In short and long-term clinical trials of adults diagnosed with treatment-resistant depression, SPRAVATO™ nasal spray was deemed safe and tolerable. The most common side effects include dissociation, dizziness or spinning sensation, nausea, sedation (sleepiness), touch and sensation reduction, anxiety, lack of energy, increased blood pressure, vomiting and feeling intoxicated. These symptoms usually happen immediately after SPRAVATO™ dosing and resolve within a couple of hours. There is an FDA-required two-hour observation period after treatment for possible side effects. Driving is restricted for 24-hours after adminstration. There is a potential for abuse, therefore alert your provider of prior history of dependency or addiction. Alert your provider immediately if you experience any mood, behavior or thought changes. SPRAVATO™ may increase your risk for suicidal thoughts and actions during the first few months of treatment.
